ESPN Wants Out, Leaves IRL No Where To Go!!
Posted in Uncategorized on July 28, 2008 by JamesWith so manypositive divelopments for the IRL in the last 6 months, this could be the worst news in some 6 years. According to Sports Buisness Journal, ESPN and its family of networks is losing money airing Indycar events and they just want the 500. Same can be said for FOX, who is also interested in just the rights for the Greatest Spectacle In Racing. SBJ says that Versus is interested in showing some of the smaller events, but thats it. With some slightly more positive but old news, SBJ reports that Kodak and Subway are both interested in the title sponsorship for the IRL, but with some newer news they also say that William Rast (Townsend Bell’s Sponsor) as well as a few soft drink companies are also interested in title sponsorship.
